Sipnosis
En 1958, Stevens (Anthony Hopkins), un perfecto mayordomo, viaja por Inglaterra. Ahora trabaja para un millonario americano (Cristopher Reeve) que es el nuevo propietario de Darlington Hall, mansión que vivió su etapa de mayor esplendor veinte años antes, cuando su dueño, un aristócrata británico, reunía en su casa a los personajes más influyentes de los años 30, una época crucial para el futuro de Europa.
